Collaboration
Restorative Body Therapy encompasses several different types of bodywork and holistic therapies that have been fused together to create a cohesive and comprehensive treatment. After reviewing your intake form and what you choose to share about your body, together we will decide what attributes from specific therapies might benefit you most. Communication
Communicating on pressure preferences during your session is essential to having a positive experience and result. If you are receiving deeper work in your tissues, it is normal to encounter some discomfort. Experiencing pain can be a way that our bodies convey a potential imbalance that is in need of attention. However, everyone has a different threshold for pain and while I can perceive much about your body’s structure and tensions, only you experience your internal discomforts.
Relaxation
Your relaxation and comfort are the most important aspects of your appointment. By relaxing you help facilitate a more effective outcome from your bodywork. When your body is calm, I am more easily able to determine structural imbalances, which aids in my ability to help alleviate areas of tension in your body. In working together, our objective is to create a more balanced state-of-being for your body. Please let me know if there are any additional elements (i.e. adjusting music, temperature, lighting) that would support your relaxation.
Education
Bodywork can be a truly educational experience for your body. Learning to interpret different sensations in your body and distinguishing between “good” pain versus “bad” pain will help you better care for areas of tension or injury. It is always my intention to provide you with as much information as you would like on how your body works or why something feels the way it does. Understanding your body more can help you in caring for it outside of our sessions.
