Backstory
I’ve heard the same sentiment for as long as I can remember...
“Your style of bodywork is really unique—
where did you learn how to do this?”
The truth is I’ve never really been able to answer this completely. I’ve learned it in so many different places, with so many different people. Experiencing all kinds of bodywork and holistic therapies from around the world has constantly inspired me to experiment with merging distinct, specialized techniques. Still,
I believe the most significant facet of my work is listening. Listening to what people have to say about what they’re feeling in their bodies. Listening to what they’re hoping to achieve through bodywork. Listening on a more subtle level through touch, through breath, through structural or emotional releases.
We all carry unspoken stories in our bodies. They resonate and reverberate through our deepest tissues. Sometimes we feel them through sharp pains, sometimes through unrelenting tension or unbearable restrictions. My job has always been to help translate the messages—to feel where the cross-communication in the body has occurred. Interpreting the faint signs that can reveal the source while conceptualizing what “balanced” might feel like in each individual body.
